Biltmore Hotel, Mayfair

Having carried out many projects for Vascroft Ltd before, they approached us for a waterproofing solution for the main car entrance podium deck.

We had designed a solution appropriate for the usage, but unfortunately, this proposal was well over budget.

At Elmpride Ltd, we aim to find solutions that fit your budget, and if we cannot, we are transparent about what we can and can’t do.

Going back to the drawing board, we had many factors to consider. Firstly work was due to being in November 2018, which meant colder and wetter days, as the area we were working on was exposed to the elements, the product needed to be fast curing and rainproof very quickly, it had to be able to withstand low temperatures and still set as per the manufacturer’s guidelines. Secondly, the product needed to accommodate ground movement and vibration, as there is heavy vehicle traffic in the surrounding areas and on the deck itself.

Considering all these factors and the budget, we designed a solution and found a product that ticked all the boxes, Koster NB4000.

Koster NB4000 is a fast-curing polymer product, which gives you the properties of a bitumen thick film sealant and the advantages of a flexible mineral waterproofing slurry.

The first coat is embedded with Koster Glass Fibre Mesh, and the second coat is applied once suitable. We then covered the waterproofing with Delta Terrax membrane which is a drainage protection layer.

Having to cover more than 700m2, Elmpride technicians expressed their joy at the end of the job working with such a great product.

Works were completed, and we left Vascroft Ltd happy with the work carried out.
